This summer DroidApp celebrates its 7.5 years of existence. To celebrate with you, we are organizing the (online) DroidApp Photo Competition 2021. Submit your best photo and have a chance to win a new smartphone, or another cool prize!

DroidApp Photo Contest 2021

On August 17, DroidApp will celebrate its 7.5th birthday. We want to go big this year and let you win some great prizes. We will put several promotions online, but the biggest competition is our own photo contest. During our five-year existence, the photo competition was a great success, and now we are expanding even further; with even more prizes!

What should you do?

Participating in DroidApp’s photo contest is actually very easy. You take a photo yourself, or you use a photo that you took yourself at a previous moment. Below we list the requirements for participating in the photo competition. It is good to know that large edits and so-called manipulated photos are not accepted. A photo must have been taken with a smartphone, not with a camera. The EXIF data must be present in a photo; so don’t take the photo from whatsapp, then the technical details of a photo will be lost.

There is no fixed subject; choose a beautiful photo of a holiday, walk, a piece of nature, beautiful perspective or your most beautiful pet. It doesn’t matter whether a photo was taken in 2015 or in 2021, as long as it was taken with a smartphone.

  • The photo must have been taken with a smartphone
  • You are self the creator of a photo
  • Major edits are not allowed; converting to black and white and (subtle) small adjustments such as exposure/contrast are allowed.
  • EXIF data must be present, send pictures in high resolution
  • No collages or photo borders/decorations
  • Maximum 1 photo per person

What do you have to take into account?

When people or certain types of buildings are in the picture, you must have permission by law to share them. DroidApp is not liable for any copyright infringement. Keep this in mind!

Who will pick the winner?

By submitting your great photo you have a chance to win one of four prizes. Every photo that meets the conditions has a chance to win the prizes. Duplicate submissions and fraud (for example by submitting a photo several times) do not count. We monitor this closely. But who will pick the winner? We summarize that below.

  • 2nd jury prize (by the editors of DroidApp)
  • 1st Audience Award (voted by DroidApp readers)

  • 3rd Audience Award (voted by DroidApp readers)

As you can see, you can not only win prizes through a choice of the DroidApp editors, but also of the public. After the closing date of the photo competition, the ‘voting lines’ will open and all photos that have qualified can be voted via the special page.
