Don’t fall for this scam

Fake Facebook pages are currently attracting attention, allegedly trying to sell a popular Lidl product. Only 1.99 euros should have to be placed on the table for a food processor. It is a subscription trap in which customers are ripped off.

Alleged Lidl bargain as a subscription trap

If an offer is too good to be true, it is often not true. This is just becoming clear again on Facebook: Fraudsters are promoting the Monsieur Cuisine kitchen machine as a mega bargain at Lidl incredible price from only 1.99 euros. The kitchen help usually costs several hundred euros. Lidl doesn’t even have Monsieur Cuisine on offer at the moment.

The scammers got on Facebook Pages faked by Lidl and refer to a “Lldl online shop” (with a wrong spelling). It is also advertised with an edited photo, which is supposed to confirm the alleged price of only 1.99 euros. If you click on the link, you will not be forwarded to Lidl, but to a “competition” (source: Mimikama). There is talk of a “lost process”, according to which Lidl has to sell the food processor at particularly low prices.

Whoever takes part in the supposed competition will supposedly win a “Mr. Kitchen ”, which is supposed to mean Monsieur Cuisine after an automatic translation. Subsequently, after name, address, telephone number and Credit card details asked. Under no circumstances should these be specified.

Lidl fake: those affected enter into an expensive contract

When participating in the “competition”, a contract with business-to-business mailing is concluded, although this is not aimed at private individuals at all. The contract is made every two weeks with one Debit of 37 euros noticeable. Those affected should stop the direct debits immediately and inform their bank.
