Does your phone’s storage sometimes get full?
Smartphones come with more and more internal storage. It is not rare to find a budget device with 128 GB of storage. We therefore ask in this AW Poll whether the storage on your phone is still getting full.
Smartphone storage
In the early years of Android, limited storage space on phones was often an issue. Your phone was littered with apps and photos leaving no room for new updates or much needed updates. You could often expand storage via a microSD card, but you couldn’t just run any app from the microSD card.
Today a lot has changed and we have budget smartphones with 128 GB storage and apps that take up less storage space than before. At the same time, we often see the microSD slot disappearing on smartphones, but there are other ways to give that photo collection a place.
Free unlimited backups in Google Photos may be a thing of the past, but a subscription to a cloud service doesn’t have to cost that much either. On the other hand, you can also manage your data yourself if you work with a NAS, which stands for Network Attached Storage. It is a hard drive that is permanently connected to the internet. Many see this as a privacy-friendly alternative to a cloud service, but you also pay more for a NAS. Regardless of whether or not your storage on your phone is getting full, it is wise to keep data safe in a backup.
