Disney+ is taking the Netflix route – and unfortunately taking a completely wrong turn
Disney+ will raise prices in the US. German customers are not affected – not yet. But soon the German offer should also become more expensive. At the same time, advertising will then be placed on the streaming service. But Disney makes a crucial mistake – unlike Netflix.

Disney + starts advertising subscription – and customers are asked to pay
The times when we were able to stream one episode after the other in a relaxed manner and above all without interruption are coming to an end – at least as before. The reason: More and more streaming services are integrating advertising firmly in their offer.
In doing so, they not only take away one of the great advantages over classic TV from the early days of streaming, but also present customers with a new choice: Advertising or not? Because so far, the major streaming services are planning subscriptions with and without commercial breaks – each at different prices.
Initially, corresponding plans were foreseeable at the industry leader Netflix. There they have now decided: It will be a give a new price level, cheaper than all previous ones, partly funded by advertising revenue. Customers then have the advantage of paying less for the Netflix offer than was previously possible. It’s just stupid that probably not all series will be included.
Disney has chosen a different path: So far, there has been no talk of content restrictions, so far, so good. For this gives streaming fans a broadside when it comes to price: Instead of lowering the price for the advertising subscription like Netflix, the current monthly costs remain the same – just with advertising.
Can it be something other than Disney+? The big streaming comparison in the video:
Plague or Cholera? Disney soon presents you with an uncomfortable choice
If you want to avoid this, you have two options: Disney+ Premium will be available in the USA from December 8th and will sooner or later also be available in Germany. Cost point: $10.99 instead of $7.99 per month or $109.99 instead of $79.99 per year. If you don’t want to see any advertising, you’ll be asked to pay at least 30 dollars more, otherwise everything stays the same – well, thank you very much.
Option number 2: If you don’t want to see Disney+ with advertising, can also just cancel. But then it’s over with almost everything that Marvel and the MCU have to offer, for example. So when the price increase comes to Germany, we are faced with a choice: Advertising, pay extra or cancel? I still don’t know which I prefer.
