Disney+ imitates Netflix with cheaper subscription

By putting a cheaper subscription on the market, Disney + hopes to attract new customers.

Disney+ currently costs €8.99 per month or €89.90 on an annual basis in the Netherlands. You have to deal with that, there are no other subscription forms. This is in contrast to the competition. Netflix, for example, has multiple subscription plans, each with a different monthly price tag. Disney+ will now also offer multiple subscriptions, although it may be in a different way than you think.

No, Disney+ does not come with a subscription structure as we now know from Netflix. Instead, Disney+ is launching a new subscription form in Asia, aimed at the mobile user. For just $6.70 a year, residents of India can enjoy Disney+ in HD quality on a mobile device. Netflix has had such an offer for some time to reach subscribers with a small wallet. Not everyone can cough up 8 euros or more per month for a streaming subscription, that’s what these micro subscriptions are aimed at.

For the inhabitants of India who have a little more to spend, they can take the more expensive mobile subscription. That costs $12.08 a year. Then you can stream in HD on a maximum of two devices. On top of that is a subscription of $ 20.14 per year. Four mobile devices can stream with this subscription and in 4k quality.

From September, Disney+ will roll out these new subscriptions in India. It’s unlikely we’ll get such subscriptions here in Europe, if that’s what you were hoping for.
