Customers do not have to hope for these electric cars

When it comes to switching to an electric car, many customers ask themselves: Will it be a Tesla? Many buyers around the world are now being forced to say “No!” by the manufacturer themselves.

Tesla cleans up: These e-cars are over

Apparently, Tesla has made a decision that will leave disappointed and angry customers in some countries around the world. With the update of the high-priced Teslas Model S and Model X, left-hand traffic is over. The Electric cars are no longer built as so-called right-hand drive vehicles.

As a result, they are no longer an option for many customers. Left-hand traffic applies, among other things, in United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, Singapore and Thailand. Tesla either offers customers in the affected markets to switch to left-hand drive (e.g. in Japan and the United Kingdom). Or there is a full one Refund for already reserved e-cars.

Tesla’s move doesn’t come entirely out of nowhere. The US carmaker had not accepted any orders for the two electric cars with the steering wheel on the right side in affected countries such as Australia for several weeks.

Tesla is only vague about the reason: It has Changes in the vehicle program given, it says in an e-mail to affected customers of the Model X (source: Electrek). While some customers in the British Isles, Australia and Japan still have the option of opting for left-hand drive, other potential buyers are left alone with the consequences.

Did you already know this about Tesla?

We can only speculate about the background here. However, it seems that the option of offering Model S and Model X as right-hand drive not counting for Tesla. After years of waiting for the revised versions of the electric cars, customers now have to come to terms with the end.

What’s next for Model 3 and Model Y?

But they don’t necessarily have to do without a Tesla. The two volume models of the e-car pioneer Model 3 and Model Y will probably continue to be offered in both versions.
