Currently: UPC is down, internet didn’t work all night

UPC, a large internet connection provider in Slovakia, is down. Users have been reporting Internet malfunctions since about midnight. We also noticed the problem in Bratislava.

The malfunction of the Internet is also confirmed by the well-known Downdetector portal, where people can easily report problems. Currently, approximately 900 issues are reported. These most often come from larger cities, such as Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Košice and Banská Bystrica.

This means that the outage is not only local, but affects the whole of Slovakia. We tested the connection in two places in Bratislava, the internet works in one, not in the other.

Comments from people who have a problem with the Internet are multiplying on the company’s Facebook profile. The company has already informed about the outage.
