Chinese horror for PS5 relies mainly on puzzles -apkrig
We wrote about the Chinese horror film Dying: 1983 on the Vortex last December. At least at first glance, it looks quite unconventional and interesting. Now this time-limited PlayStation 5 exclusivity has been reminded of us again, and we’ve also seen a new video. This is the second game in the Dying series and it is a first person horror film focused primarily on puzzles and logical tasks.
Dabing jako ve Fatal Frame
The authors promise the surreal environment of the prison, where the main character is trapped, as well as top graphics, including ray tracing and other modern effects. The novelty should also be five times longer than the first part. It will offer a longer scenario and even more puzzles themselves.
As we wrote earlier, Dying: 1983 will work on the principle of escape rooms or games, if you will, and will also have a similar structure and pace. Studio Nekcom, which is developing the game, boasted that Japanese dubbing will be taken care of by actors known from games such as Fatal Frame, Catherine or Genshin Impact.
Earlier, fans of haunting games likened the title to a horror production from the land of the rising sun. But while Pyramid Head terrifies us in Silent Hill, the dreaded enemy in the Dying series is Fishhead with a fish instead of a head. And he can even wear an evening dress. In addition to the puzzles themselves, we should also look forward to exploring the bizarre world. In this sense, the title has to offer elements of metroidvania.
Nekcom is based in Wuhan, China, but also has a second team in Los Angeles. The studio was founded in 2011 and its developers previously worked for giants such as Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Ubisoft or Activision Blizzard. The game will be released on PS5 first next year, and after a while it will also focus on PC and PS4. If you prefer puzzles to action in scary games, this might be for you.
