Check out the first photos from the new film Resident Evil -apkrig

IGN magazine published the first photos from the film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. In the footage from the upcoming film, we can see the main characters and their representatives for the first time. Claire Redfield and her brother Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy and Albert Wesker are also present.

But he was inspired by movies like Devil’s Exorcist, Don’t Look Now or Enlightenment. Raccoon City itself is supposed to act as a town from the movie Deer Hunter.

The screenplay and direction were provided by Johannes Roberts, who has horror films Forest of the Damned, Storage 24, The Dark Side of the Door, 47 meters or Oni 2: Night Booty. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City premieres in the USA on November 24 and will enter Czech cinemas on December 2. It is based on Capcom’s first two plays, and its director has repeatedly stated that he should return to his roots and make Resident Evil scary on the screen again.

Roberts has repeatedly emphasized several times in an interview with IGN that his film has nothing to do with the older Hollywood saga. On the contrary, he was significantly affected by the recent remake of the second part, he repeated. But he was also inspired by films such as The Devil’s Exorcist, Don’t Look Now or Enlightenment. Raccoon City itself is supposed to act as a town from the movie Deer Hunter. And the whole structure of the film was again influenced by the film Assault on the 13th Precinct.

Roberts also reiterated that the film does not have one main character like the previous film series, but a whole host of important characters who move the story forward. That is why it was so important to find the right representatives of these roles. According to him, this is one of the mistakes that video game adaptations can make. Namely, that the filmmakers are looking for representatives of heroes who are similar in appearance, hairstyle and clothing, but they will miss the opportunity to create real three-dimensional characters from them. It was said that it was especially difficult for them to find a representative of Leon Kennedy.

In one of the shots, the heroes can be seen in the infamous Spencers’ mansion, which is supposed to be really scary. According to Roberts, he wanted more scare than action and he believes that the fans do the same. That they want to see famous characters and places and that everything is more in line with the game saga, which his team also tried. The filmmakers collaborated with Capcom to the point that they even received plans for the Racoon City headquarters or police station so that they could translate them to the screen as accurately as possible. They even have the same paintings hanging on the walls, and Capcom is said to like the result very much.

Each character and monster comes straight from the game, and Roberts wanted everything to be as true to the original as possible.

The next picture shows Lisa Trevor, the daughter of the architect of the residence. She, too, is the victim of Umbrella’s experiments, which marked her badly. The director has always been fascinated by this character and plays an important role in the film. When they started talking about making a film, it was an element he wanted to explore more, because it hadn’t really appeared in film versions before. According to him, he is a scary, but at the same time tragic character. And Roberts believes fans will like it. They connected her more to Claire’s story.

Capcom was involved in the production, the director assures, and worked closely with the filmmakers. Each character and monster comes straight from the game, and Roberts wanted everything to be as true to the original as possible. Fans are said to get their money’s worth. But according to him, it was also the hardest thing to adapt, because he didn’t just want to make a film out of the game, he wanted to do something new that would correspond to the known world.
