Bizarrely many Dutch people post a video

The Dutch have posted a bizarre number of videos in the past year. Read here how much and when!

Picture says more than words. And moving images are even better. So movies. Various platforms and/or apps are useful in responding to this. The largest apps of the moment are completely focused on images, such as Instagram. Now it is known how many Dutch people have posted a video.

A lot of videos

In the past twelve months, no less than 56% of all Dutch people have posted a video and thus shared it online. More than half of the Dutch have done this, this seems a lot and it is a lot. But worldwide the percentage is even higher, namely 72%. The videos do not only have to be placed on YouTube, this is also possible on the other platforms.

Sure, many people have put their cat videos on YouTube. Nice! But it involves all kinds of videos. From ‘how to do something videos’ to holiday videos. You will find it all on the different platforms. YouTube has written a report on this, which looked at the viewing behavior and posting of videos of adults between the ages of 18 and 44. They have done this worldwide. What also turns out? The percentage of posting videos has increased despite the many sitting at home.

Trends

So we are getting more and more used to posting videos. Yet we are still quite Calvinistic and (therefore) reserved in comparison with other countries. The YouTube report also describes that we are a big fan of live streams. A whopping 83% of the Dutch have looked at this in the past year. Such a live stream is, for example, from playing a game, or an event from Google, unpacking a product or landing the rocket on Mars. Then we can’t get away from the screen!
