Best Samsung Smartphones You Can Buy (2022)

Samsung is bringing more and more smartphones to the market. The company now has a smartphone available in every price segment, and is doing everything it can to offer every potential customer a Samsung in his or her desired price range. In addition, many older Samsung devices drop in price, making them compete with the newer models. So which Samsung phone is the best to buy?

The best smartphones

Sometimes you can no longer see the ‘smartphone forest’ for the trees. Brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, OPPO, Realme and Xiaomi nowadays bring dozens of smartphones on the market that sometimes look very similar, but are just that little bit different. In this article series, we therefore discuss the best smartphones from each brand that you can buy right now.

We do this per brand and ascending in price. We mainly look at devices of a certain brand that are a real buying tip in a certain price range. These are smartphones that have features that are not common in a certain price range and therefore also have a good price-quality ratio. Earlier we wrote an article about the best Xiaomi smartphones that you can order right now. In this article it is Samsung’s turn.

Samsung

In this article we therefore discuss Samsung, the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world and the most popular in the Netherlands. The South Korean manufacturer has been arranging, shall we say, its smartphone lineup for the past few years. Where the company used to have many different lines, the manufacturer now sticks to four lines. The A-line, M-line, S-line and the Z-line. The devices from the M and A line are the budget and midrange smartphones, the phones from the S line are the high-end smartphones of the brand. Finally, the Z-line includes all foldable devices.

As mentioned in the intro above, Samsung tries to place a good Samsung phone in every price range. This so that everyone has a Samsung smartphone available and the company can sell many smartphones. The company’s focus is further mainly on the update policy, the cameras and the overall user experience. Below we list a number of smartphones from Samsung, which we think are the best ones to buy.

Samsung Galaxy A13 – 165 euros

The cheapest smartphone in this list is the Samsung Galaxy A13. In my review of the device, I already wrote that low-end smartphones are currently perhaps the smartphones in which we see the most further developments and improvements. We see more and more phones in this budget category with an AMOLED panel, multiple (useful) camera lenses and long software support in combination with the latest Android versions. The Galaxy A13 is a textbook example of such a smartphone. So I said the following about it:

We see a beautiful Full HD+ panel, a much more modern design, better cameras, a long battery life and the latest Android version which is upgraded for at least three years and updated for four years. This makes the device very complete, and highly recommended for people who don’t want to pay too much for a smartphone, but want to use their device for a long time.

We also recommend the 128 GB version of the Galaxy A13. This is only a tenner more expensive than the variant with 64 GB. Is it an option to spend 100 euros more on your phone? You can then buy an even faster and more future-proof phone with the Samsung Galaxy M23 5G. But for a phone of only 150 euros, the Samsung Galaxy A13 is very complete and a good buy.

Samsung Galaxy A53 – 350 euros

A new Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone is one of the most important devices of the year for Samsung. For two years in a row, a smartphone from the A5 line has been the best-selling Android smartphone. For example, the Galaxy A51 and A52 were the best-selling smartphones of 2020 and 2021 respectively. Not surprising, because the smartphones from this line are true everyone’s friends with a good price-quality ratio. The Samsung Galaxy A53 should repeat this trick.

Strangely enough, the A53 does less well on a number of points than its predecessor, the Galaxy A52(s). For example, the device has a less fast processor and the 3.5 mm audio jack is missing. In addition, the cameras, the screen and the design are largely the same as with the A52(s). With four Android upgrades and five years of security updates, the update policy is better than with the A52(s). This makes the smartphone more future-proof. However, the A53 is currently about 30 euros more expensive. So if you want a faster smartphone and want to save about three tens, you can also choose the Galaxy A52s. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – 550 euros

Are you looking for a high-end smartphone for a mid-range price? Then you’ve come to the right place with the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The device is a cheaper – but on many points better – version of the Samsung Galaxy S21. First of all, where do you give up compared to the ‘regular’ S21? The S21 FE has a slightly less luxurious design. The S21 and S21 FE both have a plastic back and an aluminum frame. The difference is that the S21 has a slightly smaller notch for the selfie camera and has a camera island that is surrounded by aluminum. With the S21 FE it is made of plastic. The biggest difference in design, however, is the fact that the S21 has a 6.2-inch screen and the S21 FE has a 6.4-inch screen.

So much for the minor differences and drawbacks that the S21 FE has, compared to its more expensive brother. However, the S21 FE is better than the ‘regular’ S21 in many areas. For example, the S21 FE has a faster and more efficient processor, a better telephoto camera that can zoom 3x optically, a larger battery and software support for one year longer. Both devices will receive four Android upgrades and five years of security updates. However, the S21 FE is almost a year younger, so it will last longer.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is an incredibly good smartphone with a good and extensive camera island, a fast processor, a beautiful and smooth AMOLED panel, and a modern and functional design. This makes the S21 FE the high-end device without a high-end price, and therefore a real buying tip. You can read more about the smartphone in our review.

Samsung Galaxy S22+ – 850 euros

The Samsung Galaxy S22+, together with the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, forms the Galaxy S22 series from Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is the middle smartphone in this series. The device has a beautiful and luxurious design, a beautiful, smooth and clear AMOLED panel, fast performance, a versatile camera and also offers four major Android upgrades and five years of security updates. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ makes no compromises, and that provides a strong overall picture. In any case, my heart made the device beat faster, you can read more about this in our review.

For those who want to save almost 200 euros, the S22 basic model is also a good choice. This smartphone is equal to its bigger and more expensive brother in almost everything. However, the S22 has a smaller 6.1-inch screen, and therefore a battery that lasts much less. In addition, it can charge less quickly. Finally

The phones discussed above, we believe are at this time the best Samsung smartphones money can buy. And yes, there are better and more powerful Samsung smartphones on the market. With the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra you get the ‘best of the best’ of what Samsung has to offer. In addition, Samsung also has good foldable smartphones with its Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. However, due to the (too) high price, these devices are not (yet) on this list.
