Benefit from an installation bonus
If you are considering installing solar panels in your home, we have good news for you. Indeed, it is possible that you will receive a grant to help you in your project. We give you all the details in the following lines.
The State has set up numerous means to promote the use of renewable energies. In this panoply of measures, there is therefore aid intended for individuals, to enable them to bear the costs of their work more easily in order to save energy. This contribution is therefore particularly focused on the installation and use of solar panels, also called photovoltaic installations. Aware of the dangers of global warming, the majority of countries wish to considerably increase the rate of production of renewable energies, whether solar, wind or hydraulic energy. States have therefore launched solar plans to stimulate these different sectors. A real race against time, with the ambition of considerably reducing the proportion of fossil fuels in consumer habits. To date, this goal, which once seemed surreal, now seems closer to realization. The main condition for success is that everyone, at least a large majority, chooses to get involved. It is to stimulate everyone’s enthusiasm that the State has chosen to award bonuses, as long as individuals who are able install photovoltaic panels decide to do so.
Who can benefit ?
Whether you are a business owner, a home owner or even an agro-industrial, you can claim state aid for the installation of solar panels. Indeed, the interest here is not only to produce the energy you need yourself, but you also have the possibility of reselling the overflow that you do not use. Self-consumption is therefore the central pillar of this system, because if everyone is able to generate the amount of energy they need, the need for non-renewable energy will eventually fade. It is to stimulate this transition that the State continues to take various measures, including bonuses.
There are different premiums which you can claim, their amounts vary according to the type of use of your installation and its power.
In the 3rd quarter of 2022, the amounts granted for this bonus were:
- €430/kWp for devices less than or equal to 3 kWp;
- €320/kWp for devices between 3 and 9 kWp;
- €180/kWp for devices between 9 and 36 kWp;
- €90 for devices between 36 and 100 kWp.
The Purchase Obligation
If all your production is intended for sale, the standard kilowatt-hour purchase rates in effect in the third quarter of 2022 are:
- installation less than 3 kWp: €0.2022;
- between 3 and 9 kWp: €0.1718;
- between 9 and 36 kWp: €0.1231;
- between 36 and 100 kWp: €0.1070.
If you only resell the excess electricity after self-consumption:
- for an installation of less than 3 kWp: €0.10;
- between 3 and 9 kWp: €0.10;
- between 9 and 36 kWp: €0.06;
- between 36 and 100 kWp: €0.06.
Reduced rate VAT
A photovoltaic installation that is used for self-consumption and is connected to the electricity grid, with a power less than or equal to 3 kWp, can benefit from a reduced VAT rate of 10%. However, the work must be carried out by an RGE-certified professional. In the case of a thermal panel or heat pump device, the VAT may be 5.5%.
The zero-rate eco-loan
This is support enabling individuals to undertake energy renovation work. Depending on the nature of the work you are carrying out, the loan ranges from a minimum of €7,000 to €30,000. You must provide an estimate of the work to be done.
MaPrimeRénov’
Among its many advantages, you can know its amount before the work begins. You therefore have the possibility of better planning your expenses. Another positive point, it is immediately paid into your bank account once your renovation or installation site is finished.
MaPrimeRénov’ Serenity assistance
It concerns exclusively modest and very modest households. You must own a home for at least 15 years and live there daily. The energy benefit generated by the work must be at least 35%. Depending on your income, the bonus can reach 50% of the amount of the work, with a maximum of €30,000.
The energy bonus
For a combined system, for example, it varies between 2,500 euros and 4,000 euros, depending on whether you have a modest income or not. Households considered “modest” must not exceed a defined annual income. For a household of 4 members, for example, income must be less than €52,925 in Île-de-France, or €40,201 elsewhere.
Local aid for solar installations
Depending on your area of residence, you may be able to access other subsidies and aid. The amounts vary according to the local authorities and can reach 7,000 euros.
How to get the bonus?
- you must go through a photovoltaic installer certified RGE (Recognized Guarantor of the Environment) for your work;
- your panels must be placed on the roof of your home. If you opt for an installation on the ground, you will not be able to claim the self-consumption premium;
- you must opt for a solar device whose power is less than 100 kWp. If it goes beyond that, you will not be eligible for the photovoltaic self-consumption premium.
