Making backups will not be high on their list of priorities for many consumers. Still, it is extremely important to store your data securely, in order to avoid losing the data in the event that your phone is stolen, for example. Companies like Google know that too, so it automatically stores important data from your apps, texts, calling data, contacts, settings, and even Wi-Fi networks and wallpapers in the cloud. Currently, many of these backups are still done via different backup settings, so making backups can be quite a task.

With the rollout of ‘Backup with Google One’, that problem should disappear. With the update, Google wants to transfer tasks from its Google One service to the Android settings. With the new backup function that Google is rolling out, you can store more data from one place. MMS, photos and videos: from now on it can all be saved in the new backup menu. MMS files are saved by default with the Backup with Google One service, while your photos and videos can be backed up via the new settings.

With the updated settings, consumers also gain insight into the amount of data that Google’s backup uses. In addition, you can see at a glance which files are stored on their phone in the cloud. Finally, via the backup settings of their Android phone – where Backup with Google One is now hidden – you can (immediately) make a backup, see how much storage they still have available in their Google One account. and switch accounts by clicking on the email address displayed.

They are not really big changes; Above all, Google makes the backup system more transparent and ensures uniform backup options in the Google ecosystem. Especially if you don’t like to keep the backup strings in your hands, it’s nice that all backups now take place from one menu, and that you also get a better overview of all files that are stored in the cloud.
