Aptera presents the latest beta version of its solar small car

Over the next few years, one class of vehicles will see more and more users: SEVs. These are so-called solar electric vehicles, i.e. electric vehicles equipped with solar systems. So far we have seen a few concept vehicles that take advantage of the sun, but such means of transportation have not really arrived in practice.

That should now change with the vehicles from Aptera. We reported to you some time ago that the manufacturer is already doing alpha tests with the interesting-looking vehicles, now pictures of a beta test variant give hope for an early rollout. It is planned that the beta version will be the last test variant and that production and delivery will take place in 2022.

The model hasn’t really changed much, the basic shape and structure differ only marginally from the alpha version. Since the initial presentation of Noir, the first version presented, interest in the brand has increased and the reservation list has continued to grow. It was followed by Sol (a white variant) and Luna (the third alpha variant).

The beta version was also very well received by fans on Instagram. About 80 percent voted in favor of the current design, even if it is currently still a clear draft. A few more changes are to be made before the final version, including increased comfort, but then the first speedsters could drive through metropolises around the world.

To ensure that this works without further delay, Aptera recently rented an 80,000 square meter factory in which to build the small car. The vehicle can be reserved for a reservation fee of 100 dollars, but there are no specific delivery dates yet.
