Apple Watch Series 6 dominates smartwatch sales

Apple is once again the leading seller of smartphones in the world and this is in part thanks to the Apple Watch Series 6. According to the firm Stategy Analytics, this model is none other than the best-selling connected watch in the world.

There were 9.5 million Apple Watches sold in the second quarter of 2021, up from 6.5 million a year earlier in the same period. The increase was therefore 46%. This allows Apple to have a 52.5% market share. This was 52.8% a year ago. The slight decrease is explained by the other manufacturers who managed to gain ground.

Samsung was the second biggest seller, with 2 million copies this time, an increase of 54%. The group now has an 11% market share. It is followed by Garmin and its 1.5 million sales, up 25% on a comparable basis. Its market share is 8.3%. All the rest of the manufacturers represent 28.2%.
