Apple TV+ releases humorous ad with actor Jon Hamm

Apple posted a humorous ad featuring Jon Hamm to promote Apple TV+. The actor, best known for his role as Don Draper in the series madmen, complains about not being in the movies and series available on the streaming platform.

An Apple TV+ ad with Jon Hamm

The commercial begins with Jon Hamm asking Apple if he has “something that offended you”. He begins to list several actors present in programs on Apple TV +, including Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Holland and Chris Evans.

He then plays an episode of the series Ted Lasso mockingly with a line, then he calls Tom Hanks. The actor has been in two films (Finch and USS Greyhound – The Battle of the Atlantic). Jon Hamm thus tries to join him for his next film, but it turns out that he fell on voicemail.

The video then shows other actors and actresses, including Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Mahershala Ali, Octivia Spencer, Will Farrell, Paul Rudd and even… Snoopy.

This advertisement is a way for Apple to show the public that its streaming platform manages to attract several actors and actresses who are popular in Hollywood for its various films and series. But is that enough to attract people? Apple remains vague on the number of subscribers. In France, Apple TV+ only has a 3% market share. Even Salto does better (4%).
