Apple puts an end to the Pencil for iPhone (and that’s a shame)
According to rumors, Apple was planning to release a Pencil for the iPhone. Unfortunately, this was canceled at the last minute.

Apple Pencil for iPhone
The current Apple Pencil 1 and Apple Pencil 2 can only be used on the iPad. According to a post on Weibo (a kind of Twitter), Apple was planning to give the iPhone its own Apple Pencil as well. However, the company put an end to that at the last minute. In fact, according to rumor, mass production of this special Pencil had already started.
Apple Marker: A small Apple Pencil
This Apple Pencil for iPhone was called ‘Marker’ and should have appeared during the September event, where the iPhone 14 was also presented. According to insiders, the expected price was about $ 49. That is cheaper than the first generation (119 euros) and second generation (149 euros) of the Apple Pencil.
However, this ‘Apple Marker’ did not have all the functions of the iPad Pencil. For example, it was not pressure sensitive and there is no battery in the pen. According to the rumor, Apple had developed a chip that gives the stylus the necessary power through the screen. Samsung is already doing something like this with the S Pen on the Tab S4 and the Note 8 (the Note 9 does have a battery, by the way).
It is not known why Apple decided at the last minute not to release this Apple Pencil for the iPhone after all. This is especially notable since Apple had apparently already made over 1 million of these Pencils.
In addition, the Pencil for the iPhone would also solve a major complaint of the iPad 2022. It still uses the Apple Pencil 1 with lightning connection. However, the iPad 2022 has a USB-C port, so you’ll need to use an adapter to charge this Pencil. So the Apple Marker wouldn’t have that problem.
