Apple MagSafe gets a competitor with OPPO MagVOOC

No cable or wireless charging your smartphone with a mat, but in the air?! OPPO shows that this is possible and also announces MagVOOC.

Innovations in the field of charging your smartphone, among other things, are underway. And that’s great, of course, because in the end it provides a better experience for you and me. OPPO made several announcements at the 2021 Smart China Expo in Chongqing. We will cover the most important in this article.

Smartphone wireless charging in the air

Place your smartphone on the table and the device can charge in the meantime. Sounds like something far away in the future. But that future is closer than you think. OPPO shows it. You should still have a charger nearby. But the smartphone is able to connect to that charger via the air. It is not yet known when we will see this on the market. For now, it is still a concept that is in its infancy.

OPPO MagVOOC Loading

A lot more concrete is OPPO MagVOOC loading. This technology allows you to magnetically charge a smartphone or other compatible device. It is reminiscent of Apple’s MagSafe. The technology currently consists of three products. A power bank, a stand and a round-shaped mat.

According to OPPO, this technology saves you up to 60 percent of your time compared to regular charging. And then they talk about the time you need to plug your smartphone into a cable.
