Apple fixes the most annoying feature of the iPhone 13 Pro
Apple’s new iPhone 13 Pro is great, but it has an annoying feature that doesn’t work properly. The company is now fixing this.
The latest iPhone is packed with new features. The camera of the iPhone 13 Pro also has an improved camera with an improved telephoto lens, Cinematic Mode for shooting portrait videos and a macro photography function. With the latter you can make extreme close-ups. The macro effect is incredibly cool. But many users complain about the lack of control. That will change now that Apple fixes this feature.
Annoying feature
Since launch, the 13 Pro’s camera simply switched modes automatically when you got close enough to an object. And did so in a visible way that was quite shocking. It just didn’t work that smoothly. In iOS 15.1, Apple introduced a little more control over Macro mode in the Settings app, allowing you to enable or disable the Auto Macro feature. However, this is also not the ideal solution, you then have to manually switch to the ultra-wide angle camera all the time and then zoom in to take a macro shot.
Apple fixes feature
The company has now found out for itself. In an upcoming iOS version that will (hopefully) roll out soon, you can switch to macro mode directly in the Camera app. Actually as it should. The new option, first noticed by 9to5Mac, has just been rolled out in the developer beta 2 of iOS 15.2.
It works a lot better in practice. You can then just hold your smartphone close to an object that you would like to photograph. Then find the little flower icon that appears in the camera preview. Tap it and you have activated macro mode.
