Apple fixes iPhone 12 with sound problems for free

Oops, Apple made a mistake with the production of the iPhone 12 and is now offering to fix it for free.

Of course, you can’t just walk into an Apple Store and declare that you have a broken iPhone 12 to qualify for that free repair. The American tech giant has opened a special Support page where the problem is described. It has to do with sound issues. Customers who experience such issues can have the iPhone 12 fixed by Apple completely free of charge.

The problem is in the hardware of the devices. Apple cannot solve that remotely. According to the tech company, it is a small-scale issue with a small percentage of affected copies of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. The smartphones were produced in the period from October 2020 to April 2021. Due to this issue, the sound cannot come out of the iPhone speakers properly. Quite essential, for example while having a telephone conversation.

As mentioned, only the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are eligible for the free repair, should they suffer from this problem. The Apple employee can easily check whether your device was also produced during this period. So fooling the tech company because your iPhone 12 happens to have a broken speaker is out of the question. In addition, the 12 mini and Max are excluded from the program.
