Android Auto has a bug that even a hard reset won’t fix

Several Android Auto users are complaining about issues with Google Now. The feature, which should make it easier to enter commands and help you focus more on what’s going on in front of the driver, doesn’t work properly. The information was provided by the Autoevolution portal.

The problem is that the Google Assistant can only recognize the first command. For example, if you ask him to send an SMS message, he will then ask you to send it to, but he will no longer listen to you. You will dictate the recipient’s name unnecessarily.

Users say it looks like the microphone is turned off completely. This means that the assistant is not listening to you at all. Solving similar problems usually has a simple solution, namely restarting the phone. However, a hard reset will not help in this case, the problem persists.

The issue has been discussed in Google forums for about a year, so it’s nothing new. Now it looks like it has spread. With the new Google update, it looks like some users have gotten rid of the problem, but unfortunately not all.

The current situation is that no one knows what is going on and why the behavior of Google Assistant in Android Auto is like this. We also don’t know when the issue will be resolved, but we hope Google is already working on it.
