Android 12 will bring a one-handed control mode

Android 12 will finally be a more significant update of the operating system after a few years. The latest information reveals that Android 12 will also bring a mode for comfortable one-handed operation. Large phones will probably be a little more usable again. How will it work?

The launch of the first version of Android 12 for developers is approaching, and so comes another leak of information. The diagonals of telephones have grown to enormous dimensions over the years, and many telephones are now impossible to operate with one hand. Android 12 is therefore said to bring a special mode for comfortable one-handed operation. After activating this mode it should supposedly reduce screen to 40% its size. It is said that it will be possible to use this mode with traditional Android back, home, multitasking buttons as well as using gesture control.

Activating the one-handed control mode will reportedly be in the menu Settings > System > Gesta > One-handed mode. The activation itself will then probably take place by a gesture of swiping on the navigation bar to the right or to the left. Phone makers like Samsung or Xiaomi already offer a similar feature on their devices, so we’ll have to wait to see if Android 12 brings something new or just “clean” Android catches up with the manufacturer.

How often would you use one-handed operation mode?
