We don’t want to keep you in suspense for long: the trailer shows you a first glimpse of the film!
“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”: What is the cult film about?
On the off chance that you’re unfamiliar with the storyline, here’s a recap of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy storyline. Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) is actually a normal man. He has a perfectly normal house, a perfectly normal best friend (Mos Def) and an extraordinary dream girl (Zooey Deschanel) who is beyond his reach. Everything quite normal. Exactly not! Because one day Arthur wakes up to the sound of bulldozers about to demolish his house. But that’s not all. His best friend Ford Prefect suddenly informs him that he is from another planet. If British airspace hadn’t been overrun by spaceships a few minutes later, Arthur wouldn’t have believed it. But what now? How to save the blue planet? Why isn’t Trillian, Arthur’s dream girl, in touch? And what about the number 42? Galactic history continues.
Why is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy so iconic?
The film’s cult status goes back to the 1979 novel. Adam’s British humor and detailed descriptions led to the novel’s popularity. This was followed by translation into 30 other languages, a radio play series, a television series, computer games and comics. The sci-fi action is also celebrated on stage: as a musical, but also as a play. It was actually obvious that the second film adaptation of the material would rise to the cult Olympus. Because true fans, those who know exactly what is happening on the so-called “Towel Day”, should be happy about every new input.
