If you want to protect yourself but don’t want to spend too much money, you can currently buy a medium-sized solar generator with a 100-watt solar panel at a reduced price from Amazon. Alternatively, there is a smaller set for less money.

Amazon sells solar generators cheaper in sets

Solar generators are currently enjoying great popularity. You can use it to convert the light of the sun into energy anywhere and store it in a battery. You get exactly such a solar generator with a capacity of 606 Wh and a 100-watt solar module in a set at Amazon currently for the price of only 705 euros (view at Amazon). Normally you have to pay well over 800 euros for it.

Although the solar generator “only” has a 606 Wh battery, you even have two Schuko sockets at your disposal. Usually there is only one connection in the price range and size. There are also various other outputs via USB and the like. So you can connect many devices at the same time. It is charged at the socket, in the car or simply with the solar panel.

If all this is too big and too expensive for you, then there is an alternative 288 Wh battery but the same 100 watt solar panel for 460 euros (view at Amazon). You can also charge some smaller devices with it, but you have to recharge more often if you use it intensively.

What can such a solar generator do?

Depending on the battery capacity and performance, you can do a lot with a solar generator. The smaller models are perfect for charging devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and the like. If you also want to operate a kettle or other kitchen appliances, you need significantly more power.

You can only operate a heater for a very short time, if at all, as it requires around 2,000 watts per hour. Solar generators with battery storage are not designed for this – at least not the small models. You then have to resort to significantly more powerful models that cost considerably more (look at Amazon). And even then it doesn’t work for very long.
