Amazon Alexa can now order items in your home without asking

Following a brand new update, Amazon is rolling out the “Intuitions” functionality. This allows your Alexa voice assistant to take initiatives according to your habits.

The voice assistants helped by Artificial Intelligence keep learning from you. A few weeks ago, Amazon rolled out updates allowing Alexa to predict your requests. A final update of the home voice assistant leaves it free with an element called “Intuitions”. This allows your voice assistant to make decisions without having your opinion.

Alexa’s “Intuitions” feature is only available in English for the moment

The anticipation of your requests has already been managed by the voice assistant. It began first with the Freebox Delta internet box, which called for managing this type of functionality with “skills”. As the updates progressed, Amazon offered you actions but performed according to your agreement. With the arrival of the “Intuitions” feature, Alexa will operate in full autonomy, after observing your habits. If you turn off your lights at specific times, especially when it is time to go to bed, the voice assistant will take the initiative to turn them off without your asking.

For the moment, no traces of Intuitions are present in the source code of the application in its French version. In order to discover and try this feature, you must upgrade the software to its American version. You must then go to the settings in order to activate the “Hunches” which can be translated as “Intuitions”. Indeed, for people who are concerned about the protection of home data, know that the functionality is not imposed. The deployment of this update is being done little by little in the United States before arriving perhaps soon in France.
