All three models of the upcoming series of flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S22 should use a new generation of tempered glass Gorilla Glass Victus+. The information was provided by the portal GSMArena.
All three models will have a glass back
Corning introduced the previous generation of Gorilla Glass Victus a year and a half ago and has since appeared in several flagship models (the first being the Galaxy Note20 Ultra). It offered resistance to falling from a height of two meters, which extended the life of smartphones. The successor to this reinforced glass is almost around the corner and will reportedly be introduced along with smartphones Samsung.Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ a Galaxy S22 Ultra.
All will reportedly use the new generation of Gorilla Glass Victus + glass. At least that’s what a well-known leaker says Ice Universe. However, it does not specify whether this applies to both the front and the back or only the front of the smartphones. A month ago, information appeared that all three Galaxy S22 models will have a glass back. The lower models of the previous generation had a plastic back, so it will be an upgrade, which will certainly be reflected in the price.
A year ago, the tallest Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G had Gorilla Glass Victus tempered glass on both sides. However, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra should have a special glass on the back – the leaked technical sheet mentions Super Clear Glass, which was also developed by Corning. This glass should reduce glare and reflections.
According to leaked photos of the news, some of the color variations on the back should have a matte finish. Galaxy S22 and S22 + are expected to come in pink-gold, green, black and white. Galaxy S22 Ultra should be available in burgundy, green, black and white. Samsung has not yet officially set a date for the news, but the Korean media has already announced that the Galaxy S22 Unpacked event will take place on February 8.
