In Australia they are already stock market stars, now Sezzle and Afterpay also want to gain a foothold in Germany. Sezzle already has staff, Afterpay is still looking.

The US company Sezzle is already taking off with a well-known management team from the German fintech scene in Berlin. The product has been covertly tinkered with for months. Just a few days ago, Sezzle made his ambitions public with a photo of the Berlin television tower.

Sezzle already there, Afterpay is looking for a Germany boss

A total of 22 positions are advertised at Sezzle in Berlin. With Myprotein and the cannabis brand Vaay, the first shop customers have already been found and the list of dealers is expected to grow massively in the coming months. Sezzle Germany GmbH also already exists.

The Australian company Afterpay is not that far yet. So far, the market entry is still in prospect. A job advertisement is still being sought for a Germany boss. A leader from the trade is preferred Finance Forward Experienced. If that were found, things could go fast, because the company has a Spanish license that it can transfer to other EU countries. Afterpay has been active in Spain, Italy and France for a few months.

The Swedish competitor Klarna will certainly not look at the market, which is becoming tighter in the long term, with complete serenity, but can still remain quite relaxed. His key financial data are much stronger. While Klarna has around $ 900 million in sales and a market valuation of $ 38 billion, Afterpay is significantly lower with $ 300 million in sales and $ 129 billion in value. Sezzle is still waiting to achieve unicorn status and made around $ 50 million in sales last year.
