Acer is setting a good example. The company wants to improve its ecological footprint and has presented a very special notebook that other manufacturers are happy to replicate. But that’s just the beginning.

Acer Aspire Vero: The sustainable notebook

Ever faster, fancier and more durable: this has been the motto for notebooks for years. Nobody pays attention to sustainability. Acer wants to change that and has presented the company’s first sustainable notebook, the Aspire Vero. A complete change of strategy for the company is planned. By 2035, Acer wants to rely 100 percent on renewable energies. But that’s not enough for the company. That’s why this comes now Aspire Vero in the game. The The housing (30 percent) and the keyboard (50 percent) are made of post-consumer recycled plastic. So the plastic has already been used for other products and is given a second life here. Acer doesn’t hide this fact either. Both the logo and the surface show immediately that it is not a normal notebook. It was completely dispensed with dyes or stickers:

Acer goes one step further and is not only thinking about production, which should be more ecological, but also about suitability for everyday use. Many become like that full connections made available so that you don’t have to use any adapters unnecessarily. Acer also says goodbye to special screws in this model, allowing it to be easily dismantled. This should allow the Acer Aspire Vero to be repaired or simply dismantled and recycled after its life cycle.

Acer Aspire Vero: technically up to date

Acer has not shared a lot of technical data for the Aspire Vero. It is only known that an 11th generation Intel processor is used and an SSD up to 1 TB in size. So here you get standard food. How things stand with the battery and whether special precautions have been taken to ensure that the raw materials used do not come from unclear sources is not known. Acer is taking an important step here, which we welcome. The price and availability of the Acer Aspire Vero have not yet been communicated.
