Meta’s augmented reality glasses must beat the smartphone
More information is known about the smart glasses that Meta (formerly Facebook) is working on. It concerns different generations of augmented reality glasses. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has big plans for the products and we discuss what has been leaked.
Meta AR Glasses
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has been working on its own augmented reality glasses (AR) for some time. These are glasses with which virtual objects appear in the real world. A lot of information has been leaked about the product, The Verge knows that.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg hopes that the Meta glasses together with the company’s own smartwatches will soon challenge the smartphone. Glasses and watch should work together seamlessly so that you can type and operate apps, just like on a smartphone screen. According to ex-Meta employees, Zuckerberg wants the unveiling of the AR glasses to be a moment that will go down in the history books, just like it was with the unveiling of the first iPhone.
‘Project Nazare’, as the AR glasses are currently called at Meta, should offer a full-fledged augmented reality experience with 3D graphics. At the same time, the design should not make the glasses look too unusual, but according to the former employees of Meta, the latter is especially difficult. The current prototype of Project Nazare would look quite large, it is equipped with a camera and with its weight of 100 grams it weighs more than four times as much as normal glasses.
