Successful action-adventure is already getting a TV adaptation

The action-adventure It Takes Two delighted many players last year and now fans will soon be able to experience the adventures of Cody and May on television. A TV adaptation is already being planned.

It Takes Two: Enough material for a TV production

The video game It Takes Two is an experience in both single player and co-op mode, which can be seen from the Metacritic rating of 88 at the latest. Now the game, or at least the idea behind it, seems as well enough material for a TV production to offer. But what is the video game about?

It Takes Two follows the parents Cody and May. They are transformed by magic into small, living dolls. Now it’s up to them to overcome their broken marriage and work together to overcome a variety of challengesn. The goal is to get her height back, get back to normal, and be there for her daughter—a second chance at her marriage.

It Takes Two: Who’s Working on the Adaptation?

In order to realize the project, the Hazelight Studios has partnered with dj2 Entertainment. The aim is to adapt the video game for film and television and both parties are looking forward to this collaboration:

“It was a lot of fun for me and the team to create the world and story of ‘It Takes Two’,” said Hazelight Founder and Creative Director Josef Fares. “Because it has a strong story with lots of wacky characters and equally wacky co-op action moments, the potential for a great film or TV adaptation is huge.”

“dj2 feels honored to be with Josef, Oskar and the incredible team at Hazelight Studios to work on the linear media adaptation of ‘It Takes Two’,” said dj2 CEO and Founder Dmitri M. Johnson. “Just like the rest of the gaming world, we fell head over heels into Cody, May, Rose, Dr. Hakim and the imaginative fantasy universe that Hazelight has created and can’t wait to bring these characters – and this world – to life on the big and small screen.”

It is not yet certain whether this is a film or a series and also not where the result will be broadcast or streamed. We’ll keep you up to date.
