JLab JBuds Air ANC Earbuds review: a lot of sound for little
This time we were able to test the JBuds Air ANC True Wireless Earbuds, a mouth full, but these in-ear buds have just as much to offer as the product name. We test these earphones with active noise canceling in the JBuds Air ANC review.

JBuds Air ANC review
We have welcomed a new brand for DroidApp to the editors, meet JLab, an American brand that focuses on audio products such as headphones and microphones. This time we have the JBuds Air ANC Earbuds.
In the packaging we find the earbuds in addition to the remarkably large case. A set of different earphone sizes and a special set called Cloud Foam. This foam adapts to the shape of the ear. If you are looking for a USB cable, you should take a good look at the case, because the cable is already attached!
Sound quality and usage
To get the JBuds Air ANC properly connected, we had to play around with the pairing, so suddenly we only had sound from the right earbud. The manual of the JBuds Air ANC does describe a reset mode, with which we can start listening. We used the JBuds Air in combination with the Cloud Foam earbuds.
First of all, it is noticeable that the caps close well, giving the Active Noise Canceling a good chance to prove itself. In the train but also on the street we hear little of the environment, so the noise canceling seems better than, for example, the OnePlus Buds that we tested last year. There is occasionally some sound leaking through, but it is not very disturbing.
When we listen to the quality of the sound, we notice a number of things; the bass tones are warm and well represented. This makes the vocal part of the music somewhat compressed and the highs also weaker. For example, with The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights, we have to press the volume on the phone to maximum to get a better high and middle from the ears.
The operation of these in-ears from JLab takes place entirely on the earphones themselves. For example, by tapping the earpiece three times in succession, you switch between the active noise canceling options. That takes some practice because sometimes not all three taps are noticed. It is handy that the earphones let you hear what you have just tried to enter.
battery life
The battery of these JLab JBuds Air ANC earbuds lasts at least 25 hours with active noise canceling, which is perhaps less than the competition can achieve, but if we include the price tag, a very acceptable score. In this case, it is nice that you always carry the charging cable with you and can therefore provide the case with a fresh charge everywhere. If you do not use the ANC function of the headset, the manufacturer claims a duration of 40 hours. When you use these earphones for the first time, it is recommended to fully charge them first.
Rating
With these Air ANC earbuds, JLab has an interesting entry-level model for those looking for in-ear headphones for a price of about 60 euros. The company supplies a complete package for this, including different sizes of earplugs and a case with a built-in charging cord. The size of the case is, in my opinion, just a bit too big to fit nicely in the pocket.
You can buy the JLab Air ANC earbuds at Bol.com, Amazon and Belsimpel.
