Patent of the smartphone with a display over the entire surface
We are slowly but surely seeing more and more flexible smartphones on the market, and we are witnessing the arrival of new technologies every year. This time Motorola comes with a new patent. According to information on the website nl.letsgodigital.org, the design of a smartphone with a display around the entire device was patented.
Motorola razr adapts the user interface to the orientation of the smartphone
The whole idea of the smartphone originated in 2020. The documentation was approved and published only on December 23, 2021 and describes in detail the production process of the smartphone. The company later issued additional documentation concerning the same equipment. All functions are described in section “Methods and systems for rearranging virtual buttons presented on one or more electronic device displays”. In addition, the patent was filed in Germany and with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO).
The display of this smartphone covers its front and back as well as its left and right side. The hardware buttons on the pages are missing and have been replaced by software ones. These buttons adjust to the orientation of your smartphone (as you pick it up from your pocket or lift it) and appear where they are. This is handled by various sensors, such as an accelerometer, a temperature sensor and a gyroscope.
In addition to the USB-C port, there is a SIM card slot, a microphone and one of the stereo speakers on the bottom. At the top is a secondary microphone, power button and a second speaker. The smartphone should also be equipped with a stylus and should support multiple gestures.
It is still questionable whether we will see this smartphone. If this model were really introduced, it is clear that its price would climb relatively high. This would clearly not make it an affordable smartphone for the masses, but rather an attraction for technology enthusiasts.
