Big order
Father Kris had lent his phone to his son Christian to entertain him during his sister’s rugby match. Moments later, Christian informs his father that he has ordered a birthday cake. No problem, Kris thinks. Until his wife is suddenly called by an order service: at the fire station where Kris works, a large order with cakes and ice cream had been delivered. “When I first saw it, I thought it was $139,” Kris tells The Guardian. “Then I looked closely and it said $1139. 99 cakes
The toddler hadn’t held back. “I had to swipe my screen about 30 times to see the entire order, it was maybe 99 cakes,” says Kris. Christian clearly knows what he likes, as he ordered flavors like strawberry and tiramisu, his favorites. According to Kris, the order does not come completely out of the blue. “We order something every day, and he’s seen us do it many times, but he’s never done it himself.” A stroke of luck: after hearing this special story, the ordering platform refunded all costs.
