Fans have revived PlayStation Home for PS3 -apkrig
This week, we wrote that skilful fans managed to revive online multiplayer over the years in the racing game MotorStorm for PlayStation 3, whose servers have officially shut up a long time ago. PS Online Network Emulated (PSONE) already has a few similar successes, and we’ve also alerted you that they’d like to relaunch the PlayStation Home virtual social service, which ran on PS3 from 2008 to 2015, in a similar way. but it would not occur to us that we would inform about further success so soon.
After six years, PS Home will be able to start up again and resurrect. Another group called Destination Home tried for a long time, but so far they only had an offline version that worked in an emulator or on a modified PS3. But thanks to the cooperation with PSONE, they made a long-awaited breakthrough. Players will be able to join again by the end of the year, and this success would not have been possible if they had not provided their own game data, thanks to which the service could be reconstructed.
In this case, too, the informal service is not affiliated with Sony and, as such, rejects any financial support that could put the authors in trouble. The fact that other fans have worked and are working on their own version of PlayStation Home in Dreams Editor for PS4 proves that there was quite a lot of interest in this comeback. The local variation is called Dreams Central, it has just launched a campaign on Kickstarter and just a few days ago the authors showed a new video. The first since April this year, when the game was announced.
