3 new movies to stream over the weekend

The weekend is just around the corner and with it three film pearls that appear on Amazon Prime Video: A superhero blockbuster, the second part of which will soon be released in the cinema, and a classic that you should have seen.

Mississippi Burning – The Root of Hatred

The classic mystery crime Mississippi Burning with the still young actors Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe sends two completely different FBI agents to Mississippi to investigate the disappearance of several activists. The Oscar film is set in the 60s and shows a Mississippi in which there was still a hard division between whites and African-Americans at the time.

The Grinch

In the Disney remake The Grinch the old Christmas grouch is not quite so depressed and bitter. In return, you can expect a nice animated film for the whole family, in which the Grinch wants to spoil the Christmas of an entire village.

Suicide Squad

If you want to see The Suicide Squad in the cinema, you can prepare yourself from this weekend with the first part on Amazon Prime Video: Suicide Squad tells the story of several well-known DC villains who are released from prison to save the world. While the first part had its weaknesses, The Suicide Squad should still give her a chance: Here, James Gunn, who previously made the Guardians of the Galaxy films, takes over the reins.

And yes: The first part is called Suicide Squad and the second film The Suicide Squad, although the two don’t really have much to do with each other. Except that they play with the same character in the same universe.

Stream Suicide Squad on Amazon Prime Video starting July 31st.

Nice: On August 9th, the next Harley Quinn film will be released on Amazon Prime Video – Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn. Only a year out of the cinema, Birds of Prey continues the story of Harley Quinn after Suicide Squad. If you want the full dose, just watch both films and then go to The Suicide Squad in the cinema!
