Tired of the standard watch faces on your Apple Watch? Then set a Live Photo as the background. Your watch face will come to life as soon as you look at the clock.
Read on after the ad.
Tip: Set Live Photo as the watch face on your Apple Watch
Live Photos bring still pictures to life. The photos also capture the second and a half before and after taking the photo, bringing the moving image to life. These photos can also be set as a watch face. For example, your grandmother can smile at you or burst fireworks every time you look at your watch.
To take Live Photos with your iPhone, open the camera app and make sure the Live icon turns yellow. This is a circle with a smaller circle in it. Once you’ve taken a Live Photo, you’ll see it in the Photos app. The photo comes to life with a short press on the screen. Here’s how to set a Live Photo as your watch face:
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone;
- Open the Live Photo you want to set as a watch face;
To see all your Live Photos, you can also scroll down in the ‘Albums’ tab and choose ‘Live Photos’.
- Then tap the share button at the bottom left of the screen;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Create Watch Face’;
- Choose ‘Watch Face Photos’;
In the ‘Create watch face’ screen that then appears, you can still adjust the time position and complications.
- Tap Add to set the watch face.
Now if you turn your wrist or tap the screen of your Apple Watch, your Live Photo will come to life. Do you want to set more than one Live Photo? That is also possible. In the album ‘Live Photos’ you can select up to ten photos. Then follow the steps above to set the selected photos as watch face. Now whenever you look at the clock on your Apple Watch, you will see a different Live Photo.
