‘This Samsung model will disappear in the place of Galaxy S23 FE’
Samsung will release a Fan Edition of the Galaxy S23 series this fall. Samsung also launched a Galaxy S21 FE last year, but there was a lot of doubt about a possible successor. There will be no Galaxy A74 this year instead.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
There will be a new Fan Edition after all. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, as the phone will be called, will be released in the second quarter of 2023. At least, if we are to believe the rumors of the South Korean Hankooki.
The Fan Edition will be a new low-cost variant in the Galaxy S23 lineup that Samsung announced this month. To boost sales of the S23 FE, Samsung would pull the plug on the Galaxy A74.
The A73 was not a sales gun last year, and because it is the most expensive Galaxy A phone in the series, it automatically competes with the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy A5 devices traditionally outperform the A7 phones, which is why Samsung decided last year to only make its most expensive mid-range phones available in a limited number of markets.
Fan Edition
With the Galaxy S20 FE from 2020, Samsung has released a Fan Edition device for the first time. The phone was aimed at young people with its bright colors and it offered a relatively large screen and powerful specs for its price.
Less successful was the S21 FE, which appeared almost simultaneously with the S22 series due to enormous delays. Due to the global chip shortage, the phone was also relatively pricey compared to the new Galaxy S trio last year. That’s why a possible end for the FE series was rumored for a while.
