Finally! macOS 13.1 lets you search for AirTags with your Mac
In the latest beta of macOS 13.1, we can finally have our AirTags play a sound through the Find My app. iPhoned explains how it works.

MacOS 13.1 improves the Find My app
The latest beta of macOS Ventura 13.1 has received a nice update. You can now use the Find My app on your Mac to quickly find nearby accessories. This feature was previously only available in the Find My apps on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Do you have a tracker such as an AirTag or other product integrated into Apple’s Find My network? Then you let these objects play a sound with macOS 13.1 Ventura to find them very quickly. In previous versions of macOS, you could only play a sound from your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
How to find your AirTag in the new macOS?
Of course, to use this new option, you’ll need to install macOS 13.1 Ventura on your Mac first. It is currently only available as a trial version and will be coming to your Mac as an automatic update soon. Check? Then open the ‘Find My’ app. Under the heading ‘Objects’ you will find the AirTag or other accessories that you have lost. There you can see whether it is in your house, for example.
The new option ‘Play sound’ is then included. If you click on it, the device in question starts beeping and you can track down the AirTag. Handy, right? A good application of this could be that you have an AirTag hidden in your suitcase and that it beeps when it is on the airplane tire. Then you can find your suitcase extra quickly and off you go!
