The AirTag and iPad Pro 2021 are nice warm-ups, but this year’s real Apple hits are yet to come. Of course, the company always keeps its plans strictly secret, but thanks to rumors, the cards are partly on the table. So it’s time for an overview. We expect these Apple products in 2021.

1. iPhone 13

The iPhone pace will drop slightly in 2021, but still remain insanely high. We expect Apple to announce four more new models by the end of this year. The iPhone 13 series is said to consist of four models, just like the iPhone 12.

The base model is the iPhone 13. This seems to be quite similar in design to the iPhone 12, but under the hood is a better chip. The camera would also take a step forward, for example via sensor shift. This stabilizes the sensor during shooting.

The smallest iPhone of this year is of course the iPhone 13 mini, which would be the same size as the 12 mini: 5.4 inches. Maybe the notch (the notch at the top) will be slightly smaller, but we don’t expect too much from it. Speaking of the 13 mini: Apple is not expected to release a compact, high-end iPhone after this, so take your chance.

On to the best iPhones of 2021: the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. These devices will mainly make the difference in the screen area. Apple would like to give them a display just like the iPad Pro (2021). This refreshes 120 times per second, instead of the usual 60 times. The result? Much smoother animations.

Furthermore, the 2021 Pro iPhones are rumored to be making great strides in astrophotography. This is especially great news for people who regularly go out in the evening to take pictures of the starry sky.

2. AirPods 3

We hardly dare to write about it anymore, because there is no end to rumors about the AirPods 3. Then again, then again, then again, then anyway, but for the time being we are still empty-handed. However, it seems that the AirPods 3 will still be presented at the end of this year.

According to some, this will happen simultaneously with the unveiling of the iPhone 13. In that case, the unveiling will take place in September. 3. Apple Watch Series 7

As insecure as we are about the new AirPods, we are as sure as we are about the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple releases a new smartwatch every year, and there’s no doubt that 2021 will be different. The new watch has also been popping up in all kinds of rumors for months.

We expect the Apple Watch 7 to get a new design. The design would move more towards the iPhone 12. So expect a more angular housing with flat edges. This rumor is not very strange, because Apple has applied this design philosophy to many products in recent years. Just look at the 2020 iPad Air, 2021 iMac and latest iPad Pro.

Time stands still in terms of new functions. According to rumors, the Apple Watch Series 7 will receive a new, faster chip and slightly larger battery, but major innovations would not be forthcoming. That’s a shame, because the big improvement – ​​a glucose meter that knows how your blood sugar level is doing – will have to wait another year.

4. iPad mini 2021

The iPad mini last received a refresh in 2019. It is therefore logical that Apple is working on a new upgrade in the background. Remarkably, this one seems to be less ‘mini’ than its predecessors, but different than you might think.

Rumor has it that the 2021 iPad mini will have a larger 8.3-inch screen, while the 2019 iPad mini will have a 7.9-inch display. The housing does not grow anymore: it remains the same size. Apple is rumored to achieve this by removing the home button at the bottom of the screen. In addition, the screen edges would become narrower.

Also cool: the new iPad mini seems to have the same processor as the iPhone 13. Normally, the smallest iPad is always slightly behind in terms of hardware. Furthermore, the iPad mini from 2021 seems to have a USB-c charging port. This makes it easier to connect the tablet to peripherals, such as a hard drive.

5. iPad 2021

Let’s not forget the ‘regular’ iPad either. If we are to believe the rumors, it will also be renewed this year. The most important part of an iPad is, of course, the screen. Good news, then, that Apple will probably finally increase the image quality of the regular iPad, which is now well behind the rest.

The company achieves this by introducing a laminated screen, which removes a layer of air between the glass and display. Furthermore, Apple would give the iPad a thinner and lighter design in 2021. Unfortunately, the screen edges don’t seem to slim down.

6. MacBook Pro 2021

We’re not entirely sure about this one, but we’re mentioning it anyway because of all the rumours. It seems that Apple will release a new MacBook Pro at the end of this year. No unnecessary luxury, because the current 16-inch model is well behind the times. The largest MacBook Pro still runs on an Intel chip, while Apple has already indicated that it will transfer everything to its own Silicon chips in the coming years.

The Touch Bar would also be omitted. The controversial touch-sensitive bar is by no means liked by everyone, and that is why Apple seems to opt for a ‘normal’ key bar again.

The change we most hope for has to do with the screen. We hear rumors that the MacBook Pro from 2021 will get a mini-LED screen. Such a display consists of all kinds of small LED lights, which increases the contrast considerably. Mini-LED also provides a better black value: black tones are really black.
