5 Apple products we expect in early 2021

The first half of 2021 promises to be busy for Apple. In this overview we list all the new products that are on the schedule.

The overview below has been compiled entirely on the basis of rumors. These can therefore still change and have not been confirmed. As soon as Apple officially announces a new product, you will of course read it immediately iPhoned.

IPad mini 2021

The new iPad mini will be even more compact than its predecessor. Apple is working on a modified design that makes the tablet a lot thinner, although the old-fashioned home button will remain in view of the price.

The screen size would also increase and grow from 7.9 to 8.4 inches. This will probably be due to the thinner screen edges, so that the mini remains just as compact but the screen is still a bit bigger. Apple would like to release the iPad mini 2021 in March.

IPad 2021

The iPad is the cheapest way to get a normal sized Apple tablet. The only drawback is that the design has become obsolete in 2021, especially now that the iPad Air also received a major design upgrade last year.

The new iPad would therefore be thinner and lighter, with narrower screen edges. This makes the iPad just a bit more compact, or the screen will become slightly larger. However, do not count on Face ID or a front-filling display: Apple wants to keep the price too low for that.

IPad Pro 2021

A lot of rumors have already appeared about the iPad Pro 2021. The new Pro tablet would make great strides, especially in terms of the screen, by introducing mini LED.

Although the format remains the same, mini LED is a significant improvement. It provides a higher contrast and is cheaper to produce. As far as the camera is concerned, little changes: the Pro-iPad would keep a dual camera lens and again have a LiDAR scanner.

4. AirPods 3

The third generation of AirPods took a while, but there seems to have been a good reason for this. Apple would adjust the design, making the regular AirPods more like the AirPods Pro. With silicone earplugs they fit better in your ears, which improves the sound quality.

Despite this new design, the AirPods 3 will not receive noise cancellation. That remains exclusive to the Pro models.

Apple is planning to release the AirPods 3 in March or April. Because all previous AirPods also immediately appeared in the Netherlands, we assume that this will now be the case again.

5. AirPods Pro 2

If the regular AirPods are given a new look, then the Pro variant can of course not be left behind. Also in March or April, Apple will launch the second generation of the AirPods Pro.

The new Pros would first of all get a different charging case. It is slightly less wide, so that it fits more easily in your pocket. In addition, the design of the AirPods Pro itself would change, but how it will look exactly is not entirely clear yet.

For example, there is a rumor that Apple would test a design in which the stems have been completely removed, so that you simply put the circular caps in your ears. That would make the Pros a lot more compact, although it is uncertain whether this design eventually became.

Other rumors:

There are some other rumors about upcoming Apple products, but the rumors about this are still very limited. There is a single rumor that Apple will release a new iPhone SE, but there is just as much a rumor that contradicts this.

In addition, we are still waiting for the AirTag, but it is not likely that this will happen any time soon. As always, we keep a close eye on all rumors.
