41 patches and lots of new features
Google has released the June 2022 security update for Android as expected. The latest security patch brings a total of 41 patches and also brings a lot of new functions in the June 2022 Feature Drop for Pixels.
June 2022 Security Update
A new security update for Android has been officially released by Google. Several Samsung devices have already been updated with the new update in recent days. For example, a huge update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series appeared. Now that Google has released the update, we’ll find out exactly what improvements have been made.
For example, we see patches for vulnerabilities in processors from MediaTek, Qualcomm and UniSoc. Vulnerabilities have also been patched for other components, just like in various parts of Android. Some are only for certain Android versions, and some patches are specific to certain hardware only. In total, with security update June 2022, 41 patches have been implemented. Manufacturers can then use it to roll out the update and optimize it for the different devices.
Feature Drop
Google bundles the June security update with a Feature Drop. This contains the new functions that are being rolled out for the Pixel devices. Which new functions will be available for this? There is a new application, Pocket Operator, that allows you to record video content and then mix it with fun music and video clips. Here you can add different layers, along with visual effects and beats. This option should be available for the Pixel 5 and newer.
There are also Pride Month backgrounds, you can add your vaccination card to your home screen, there are the new Real Tone filters in Google Photos and you can use live chat translations in Dutch. This option only works on the two Pixel 6 series smartphones.
