Not everyone is already familiar with the principle of crowdfunding, and that is also normal. It’s still a relatively new concept, but one that can help creative people make a difference. You first support a great idea for a product, and then you can follow the progress until the package arrives at your door. These are the four coolest gadgets on crowdfunding websites.

3D printers make it possible to print objects yourself in all different shapes. The VacuumSnap is somewhat reminiscent of that concept. He can’t print, but he can shape. In less than a minute he can raise the temperature to 200 degrees and then vacuum-form various types of plastic.
With the device you get several sheets of thick PVC and ABS material that you put in the machine. Then you place an object that you want to copy in the device. The VacuumSnap kicks into action and with vacuum power it forms a layer of hard plastic over the object. You can make masks, molds, baking tins, packaging, shoe soles, objects for model making and so on.

The OPLED is a very special lamp. It is made of wood and a durable and waterproof paper. That paper makes the lamp foldable and you can bend it into different shapes. There is a magnet on the end, so you can shape the lamp into a kind of circle, or you can attach it to a magnetic surface.
Furthermore, the lamp also works as a – according to the makers – decent Bluetooth speaker. And because it is portable, you can also take your music with you. The OPLED gives light for 6 hours and then you have to charge it with USB-C.

3. BestLynx – a personal website for everyone

For those who want to present all their projects, websites and social media accounts beautifully
What is it?
Sometimes you see people building their own website to reference their work and all kinds of activities. This can be done quite easily, for example via WordPress, but BestLynx makes it even easier. It is an app with which you can quickly build a personal one. It looks sleek, with an animated background of your choice and links that refer to your websites and social media profiles.
You have to pay for it once and then you get a url that, according to the makers, will remain yours for life. You can put that URL on your business cards and your bios on social media, so people can see everything about you in one go. The developers also plan to add even more features to BestLynx over time.

4. SOUNDPEATS Opera – wireless earphones with hi-res sound

For those who want top sound in a compact and portable form
What is it?
We recently devoted an extensive article to ‘lossless audio’ on Androidworld. You could read in it that few wireless earphones can still play studio-quality music. The SOUNDPEATS Opera work with Sony’s LDAC standard. That is not yet the same as lossless, but the makers state that they exceed the possibilities of LDAC.
The earphones contain 12 mm audio drivers and together with the charging case they are good for 33 hours of listening. With their four microphones, the SOUNDPEATS Opera should also be excellent for telephone calls. Furthermore, those microphones also work with the ANC of the earphones. They also work with touch controls, which you can personalize with the accompanying app. The SOUNDPEATS Opera support bluetooth 5.3, the latest version of the standard. Think of this with crowdfunding
Keep in mind that crowdfunding is always primarily supporting an idea, with no real guarantee that the actual product will meet your expectations. So choose the projects and start-ups that you really believe in and follow the regular development and shipping updates that the start-ups communicate. Supporting projects through crowdfunding is therefore not the same as shopping.
