Who sees the red deer?
The Oostvaardersplassen are located near Almere. Red deer, royal horses and heck cattle can be seen in the grass. At Nature Experience Center De Oostvaarders you have a beautiful view over the area. This is also the starting point for great walking routes for children.

Mouflons and boars
During a winter walk through the Hoge Veluwe National Park you might just bump into a mouflon or a wild boar. Foxes, badgers and pine martens also live in the Park, but they are quite shy. Extra special if you know how to spot these animals.
Deer, bats and tawny owls hide in the beautiful woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Take the children on a winter excursion with the forester or go out together with binoculars. Did you know that it is best to spot deer at dusk?
